It is over.
Die Ilse ist Weg ist done. Thank the good lord. I woke up at 6:00a to re-skim the entire book. I still feel like i have a 70% comprehension of that stupid depressing book. I'm in English right now, enjoying Chester Sullivan talking about tragedy. He just asked what is tragedy. I really wanted to answer: tragedy is when i cut my finger, comedy is when you fall down a manhole and die. Thank you Mel Brooks.

Hail can hurt
Hey world. Sorry it's been a bit, but here are a few updates:
So last Sunday, I was at the ECM, being a good Delta Force soldier. Lauren called me and said, "hey, have you gotten any hail?" I said, "No, just rain, I think it missed us." Way to go Nostradamus.
Here are the photo's of the damage, for your entertainment, you can play where's Jarrod on a couple of them:

See the nice huge dent in the windshield there, yeah, really sweet.

If you are sharing in my pain, leave a comment, any DFer's out there with similar wounds? I don't want to sound like a brat here, but I know someone who lost someone near, and this is just money, (and i'm insured with some very nice parents helping me out with my deductable).
Speaking of money
Check out Rick Reilly's latest column here. Some of his stuff is hackneyed and cheap, but this is real. Here I am bitching about getting hailed on my new car, some of these kids are dying because they don't have any mosquito nets. I'm such a punk.
Other reading for fun
Read Blink by Malcolm Gladwell. Worth it. I promise. Fascinating study of how we come to conclusions and it focuses on how do we subliminally come to know what we know. Fascinating.
Listening
Camille Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals. Totally brings me back to Orchestra in 6th grade. Sometimes I miss the Cello. I just love The Swan.
Thats it for now
Come back soon for some KU sports stuff and the importance of the word fuck.
Also, wish me luck on my Die Ilse ist Weg Prüfung am Freitag. Ich bin screwed.

About myself.
This was going to be the stereotypical "this is who I am" entry, but I didn't want to do that so I decided to be a bit more elusive. I was going to do a "hates/loves" type thing but my dad tells me I am not allowed to hate anything but Nazi's and the Oakland Raiders. We'll call this a "Likes/dislikes" thing then.

Call me anything but a liar

Royals suck. This makes me feel sad. (and inadequate)

Call me anything but a liar.
me: spelling is overrated
i'm listening to Matisyahu right now, he wouldn't take the time to spell things correctly, i'd guess
rebekahheacock: hah
that should go on your blog -- "Matisyahu wouldn't take the take to spell things correctly, I'd guess"
nice
me: heh, i'll do that
I need a picture, so here it is.
Senegal has no HIV*
*Basically. According to my guest speaker in Journalism Ethics (some would call that an oxymoron, i'd call them a moron) Senegal has a HIV infection rate of less than 1 percent. That is low, folks. We are always hearing about famines, wars, and AIDS in Africa, we don't ever hear about good things. Unfortunate, but if it bleeds it leads.
---
Side note, Joel from that class asked if Senegal was a city. Then he tried to correct himself and asked what size of a state it is. Then he asked the two african guests if Africa was a continent or a country. Somedays I hate Americans.

This is the first step...
...to pretentious psycho-self babble. I've always resisted creating a blog before this, but I'm curious and I've decided to join the dark side. Wish me luck with this endeavor.
